Born in a small rural town in the heart of Quebec , Louise an exceptionally talented young pianist was destined for a career in music. After receiving a masters degree from the prestigious University of Montreal in classical performance, she continued her career playing with many artists in the Montreal region including the Montreal symphony orchestra. After spending the next part of her life raising her 2 children Sarah and Benjamin, Louise re-established her professional career in Music as a composer, co-writing film and television scores with her already established film composing partner James Gelfand. Together they have scored over 16 films and numerous episodic TV series, a duo that was destined to compose.
Louise started composing with James 10 years ago bringing a fresh component to his already well-established career . As a team , with 2 working studios , they are known for their stylistic versatility and ability to handle tight deadlines and through brainstorming sessions and individual strengths their music has reached a more profound dimension . Now as one coherent voice they are recognized for their ability to musically capture the emotion and essence of the films they have scored and their openess to work towards attaining the creative vision of the filmakers . Their latest film “Darwin” from Suki films premiered at the Vancouver film festival in Oct 2016 starring Molly parker and Nick Krause.
